Title IX Essentials Training
Title IX Essentials is a 30-minute foundational training introducing you to the core principles of Title IX and how they apply at West Virginia University.
Training Requirements
This upcoming academic year, all WVU employees, first-time freshmen, and transfer students must complete a new Title IX training module, “Title IX Essentials,” through Blackboard eCampus.
For all WVU and Health Sciences employees, including faculty, staff and student employees, the new training will be assigned upon hire, position change, and at the beginning of the fall semester. Current employees must complete the module annually between August 1 and September 30.
The updated trainings reflect current federal guidance and University policy, and reinforces employee responsibilities related to reporting, prevention and response to prohibited conduct. Those who fail to complete the training may lose access to certain roles or activities on campus.
To ensure that you stay informed, prepared, and compliant, all new students must complete a 30-minute Title IX training through the Blackboard eCampus between June 1 and August 12, 2026.
You’ll learn key rules on discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation to help keep our campus safe.
If you do not complete the training within the required timeframe, a registration hold will be placed on your accounts, which prevents you from registering for classes, until you finish the module.
